Be Innovative in Your Business

Innovation is how businesses continue to exist, stay competitive and be attractive to their customers. Without innovating your business will become stationary, and this can lead to a decline in your ability to attract and retain clients.

Innovation has become a real buzzword and is defined in different ways by different people, I define innovation as the process of taking your experiences, knowledge and skills to create an idea that leads to a change, big or small, in something: process in your business or a solution you offer to customers. But, the change is a result of your creativity combined with what you already know and the experiences you have had.

Giving yourself the opportunity to develop your creativity by imagining and conjuring up unique ideas can lead you to innovate and be a leader in your industry. Some people assume that if they do not do art, play an instrument or do graphic design then that means they are not creative, this was what I believed. I always told myself that I am not creative because I cannot draw and I am not interested in art, but I have learned that creativity is really just looking at something and using your unique perspective to come up with an idea.

One way that has really helped me to become more creative is to take a problem or question that I want to look up for a solution to (cannot be for everything, but can be done for most questions / problems you want to search the answer for on the internet) and to think about possible solutions and answers to it myself.

This method gives me the space and freedom to look at a problem with my own unique perspective, break it down and write down my own ideas for what the possible solution / answer can be. There really is no right answer when doing this activity, so I tell myself that any idea that I can come up with is brilliant and to not shoot it down. Space and freedom to think without any restrictions will make it easier for you to come up with ideas. I would recommend setting aside time where there are no distractions and it is just you with a piece of paper thinking about questions / problems you may be facing and coming up with solutions to those.

By not immediately looking up the answer to something and letting myself have the space to think about and create my own answers, I am free from letting other people's ideas restrict my own creativity and ability to generate ideas.

This is an exercise I would highly recommend you conduct within your business so that you can come up with your own creative and innovative ideas that are 'pure' and not manipulated or influenced by the ideas of others. Once I have done this exercise, I will then go ahead and conduct research on the topic to find ideas that other people are sharing online. I will use these ideas as inspiration and to help develop my own ideas. This way my creativity is combined with research to make my innovation stronger, concrete and more likely to be successful.

Creativity and innovation in a business is really important because without it you will always be relying on other people to provide you ideas on how to do things and conduct your business. Coming up with your own ideas allows you to have a business that is unique and that offers a different experience to your customers. Also, you will feel more confident about your business because you will better understand it since it is your ideas that form it.

Easy Hacks to Work on Your Online Business... When You Don't Have Time

Most people that are starting a business are usually doing it alongside other time-heavy commitments such as a full-time job, being a stay at home parent, going to college / university or have other responsibilities that leave them with very little time. This can make it challenging to dedicate time to a business in which you're the only one working.  There are so many tasks that are required to be completed in a business to make it successful: create products / content, market service / products / content, conduct market research, find and reach out to prospective clients. All of these tasks require time and depending on the business there can be many more tasks that need to get done.  When you have less time to spend on your business that means you can only do a limited amount of tasks and this can lead to your business taking longer to deliver success and results. This can become discouraging and many people even quit (too early) because they just do not see results and the...

How to Grow Your Business: When You're Stuck

Starting a business comes with so much excitement, energy, creativity, inspiration and drive. But, very quickly into starting, it can be a week, month or two months, the excitement and energy turns into: doubt, confusion, feeling lost and that it's a waste of time. This is very natural and happens to a lot of individuals who start their businesses, they start to doubt their ideas and whether what they're doing will even lead to success, confusion around what they're doing and why and start to feel overwhelmed and lost by all the information and things they notice other businesses doing. Whilst we live in a great time where we have access to a wealth of resources, including free, it can get overwhelming and prevent people from moving forward in their business because they're so worried if they are doing the right thing as there are many different opinions and experiences of people documented on the internet.  To get past these feelings and start to see success in your bu...
